Calling all Threads poets! I am hosting my first ever online Threads poetry reading as a way to connect, build community, and help each other grow (also to have fun).

This is going to be completely asynchronous. I am asking participants to submit a short clip of them reading poems in the same format you would use to post to Instagram or Tik Tok. You can submit one or several - it depends on how long your poems are! For this first time, let’s try to limit it to under 3 minutes or so?

The reading will be posted in its entirety on youtube, and then I will also break it into shorter chunks for tik tok and/or instagram as well, and my plan is to tag all the readers as collaborators on Instagram to help everyone grow their following, as Instagram seems to be favoring collaboration right now.

Also please note that this is a beta, first time thing and I am not doing this professionally. It will be a little hectic and rough the first time, but if it goes well, we can smooth out the rough edges as we move forward.

If it goes well, I may do it monthly. I hope to launch the first one April 30, with a deadline of 4/24 to submit your video. If you do not make the deadline, I will take anything received afterwards for the May edition.

You do not have to show your face if you do not wish to! We have several volunteers who will read your work if you are not interested or able. You may also post a video of you reading with other background footage if desired.
